On Location in CS4 removes vectorscope features
I just purchased Premiere Pro CS4 for a couple of reasons but one of them was to get monitoring of waveforms to be able to set up my camera correctly. I made this decision based on what had been in CS3.
In CS4, the ability to scale the waveform has been removed for the vectorscope. This makes aligning colors very difficult using a something like a DSC Labs color chart. Am I missing something or should I be making noise at Adobe? |
They have also silently removed Export to AAF (buggy as it was, it worked at least with Vegas), so audio post of projects made in Premiere is now next to impossible. Way to go Adobe!
|
AAF support is still in PPro CS4. And OMF support is coming soon.
|
Eric, where is it? I haven't found it in app itself (it used to be under Project menu). There's no mention of AAF in Help pdf and URL with "AAF support in Premiere CS4" on their Support website says Error 404.
|
Not sure where it is now, but the Adobe website lists it, and even mentions that it's been enhanced...
Adobe Premiere Pro CS4: Upgrade EDIT : I just checked PPro CS4 and you're right - the option isn't there...that's odd! |
I work for a nation wide review magazine, so I am very much aware of these changes... and I check twice for them. There is no AAF workflow in CS4.
|
You should contact Adobe since this is an advertised feature, and it's listed on the website. I posted on the PPro Adobe forum to see if anyone knows anything over there.
I'm wondering if it's coming later in the same update that will contain the OMF support... |
From Wil at Adobe re:AAF support...
"Correct - there were several last minute bugs that made us opt for temporarily pulling it. You'll find it reinstated in the first updater." |
