Question about stabilizing footage in After Effects, from Premiere Pro...
 

Hi,

is it possible to load a Premiere Pro project in After Effects, suppose, one hour of footage edited on your timeline, bring it into After Effects, and only stabilize the shots you want, then just go back to premiere?

So without first picking the shots, exporting them out of Premiere, importing in After Effects, stabilizing, putting them back in Premiere Pro... ?
Working with Premiere Pro 2.0 and After Effects CS3.

Update: it indeed seems to work. Nice integration, every shot in the timeline apears as a different layer on your timeline in After Effects.

Sounds like you've opened your premeire project file with (and thus importing it into) AE.

When you're done in AE, Premiere does have an 'integrated' method (i forget what they've names it) of using AE project data. Basically Premiere will link to an AE project, and let you switch back into AE when you need to edit AE's output: sorta like how Microsoft's office products allow linking and embedding. I have run into hardware trouble (slow PC) using both apps at once, though.

The other option is to render ("make movie") the AE layers after you stabilize, and import those new clips back into Premiere.

No I haven't, I just wanted to see first how the import into AE went.
