Insert/Overlay from Timeline in CS3
I am unable to insert/overwrite while not focused on Source monitor. It was possible in PPro 2. This means that when I am moving between cut points in Timeline or Program monitor and want to insert/overlay at a certain point, I must then switch to Source monitor and press comma or dot (keys for insert or overlay) or use mouse. Not very productive.
Why is this? It`s happening on XP as well as Mac OS. I cannot imagine this being useful, so it`s most likely a really stupid bug. Any comments? |
No one? You all guys really use mouse all the time?

I am a mouse user, but since CS3 now has shortcuts to move from panel to panel, is it really that much more work?
|
Yes it is, and it breaks my workflow from PPro 2.
When doing three of four points edits its sometimes very helpful to be able to do inserts/overlays directly from the Program Panel or the Timeline Panel (like in PPro2) and not being forced to *only* use the Source (CS3). No mature editing suite should deliberately force its user to relearn the most principal and basic features. I like CS3's new ability to switch between panels via keyboard, though. |
