new item MiniTripod/stabiliser - asking your opinions
 

Hello everyone,

I recently got a Sony VX2100 and a few days ago I shot my first wedding ceremony with it. The quality is absolutely gorgeous, but the camera shake was definitely noticeable although I tried to be as stable as I could. (I could not use a tripod everywhere)

I do not want to invest more money into a stabilisers such as Glidecam 2000 pro, so I wanted to ask your opinion about the following device that I found at ebay:

I also need a mini easy to carry and travel with tripod and it seems like this device is a 2 in 1. The price sounds a little expensive but please let me know if anybody has used it already, and what you think about it.

It looks OK although I would probably consider a monopod instead. A monopod would make it easier to steady the camera for longer periods of time and still be very mobile while remaining inexpensive.

I didn't check the link you cited, so forgive me if there's an overlap. You could do a search of the fora here to see what kind of discussion there's been. You may also want to check out dvcaddie.com. It's gotten some positive buzz recently and has been mentioned here by a couple of people. I own the dvcaddie junior, which is okay for my purposes, but I think most people would be better off with the regular version.

Well, thanks for the link new-product. But $209 is a little too much for that item. If I have to spend it that much money, I will perhaps spend a little more and get the Glidecam 2000 pro...

For now, I think I'll go with the mini tripod because I need something that is very portable and I like the little bit of stabilisation help.
