NAB2000: TransVideo & more
TransVideo offers a variety of products, including an XL1 viewfinder eyepiece chamois (under $10), and a variety of small, flat-panel LCD monitors in the 16x9 format, as well as wireless video transmitters and receivers.
The 16x9 LCD monitors from TransVideo may be mounted to the side of the camera, or on top via custom rail bracket (with swivel mount), which replaces the EVF assembly, as shown above. Sorry, I do not immediately recall the price points for these monitors.
From the front, a very stylish, highly compact teleprompter arrangement, perfect for the XL1. This view also shows the image controls and the front rail swivel mount of the 16x9 monitor. For more information, please contact Noel Ilaw at TransVideo.
Jean-Claude Avenel of CasesPlus unveiled a prototype medium-size shipping case for the XL1. It's a drop-in style with room for at least one extra lens. The internal foam arrangement may change prior to production, but the case itself is designed and manufactured by CasesPlus from the ground up (it's not a re-configuration of an existing case).
Anton Bauer's battery pack and on-board light for the XL1. I do not have dealer contact or pricing information at this time.
The Watchdog notes: Please be advised that with the exception of CasesPlus, I've tested none of the products on this page personally, and have not had business relations with any of the aforementioned companies. Proceed at your own risk... these images are meant only to give you an idea of what's available out there, and should not be construed in any way as a product endorsement. If you do contact a company based on what you see here, please tell them the XL1 Watchdog sent you (I could really use the reference).
