PMW-200 Battery Option
Hi, i have just worked out how to mount a non Genuine Battery a PMW200, I had a small mount made and it was fixed to the tripod to The Tripod Plate, you can click the battery into the camera as you will get a batty error, buy if you lug i the small cable first, then put the battery in upside down with a small amount velcro holding it in place your good to go, and you can also use the d-tap plugs.

Re: PMW-200 Battery Option
A strap and velcro might be more secure. (heck, you could even use rubber bands)
Hopefully a rig creator (like Westside AV) can find a way to use this design in an actual tripod plate that can be sold. |

Re: PMW-200 Battery Option
I think you could just velcro the battery to my EX1R shoulder brace. I also use o-rings around the battery to make it rock solid.
Those batteries always worked on the EX1/3 cams if you plugged the cable in and turned the camera on after. I think someone else mentioned this as well. EX1R Tripod Plate and Shoulder Brace Options The photo shows a Swit with lengthened cable powering an EX1R and the Nanoflash from the D-tap. I realize you don't need the NF any more with the 422 internal, but it will powe an on cam light or whatever.

Re: PMW-200 Battery Option
SWIT does not offer a 96Wh battery that has the interface mod to be accepted by the PMW-200, so if you're using a Switronix 96Wh battery, Olof's solution or this one might be worth looking into.

Re: PMW-200 Battery Option
I hope Sony don't figure out how to detect when the new Swit's are connected to the PMW-200 and then lock them out in any future firmware updates, that would be a bad thing for Sony to do.

Re: PMW-200 Battery Option
Bumping this thread to say, a solution to extend the DC IN is still required for the PXW-X200 if you want to hot swap batteries.
Speaking of which, no one has created a DC IN relocator for the PMW-200 that allows hot swap of batteries and provides DC IN at the same time. I'd imagine it'd be easy to make with some ribbon cable and a female and male connector. Me and Alister made a post in 2012 suggesting the idea and still no one has done it: http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/sony-xdc...ml#post1745940 And Alister, they're now emulating BP-U60s. Latest SWITs work on the PMW-300. The only way they could defeat it is to detect the emulation. |

Re: PMW-200 Battery Option
That is correct, the SWIT S-8U63 Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery for Sony Camera S-8U63 is out for a while now, does not need to use a DC cable as it talks to the camera natively

Re: PMW-200 Battery Option
So the Swit battery will definitely work with the PMW-300K?
