For Those Who are Testing 1.5.91

Hi Fellow XDR Users:
I'm getting a loss of LTC TC Record Trigger with my XL H1 @ 24 F when I enable E to E, so I may use the new Record Tally feature. If I use the non-E to E setting, then my LTC TC Trigger Record function returns, but then I lose the Record Tally feature. A message flashes on the XDR screen upon boot up saying record tally only functions in E to E mode (BTW, Why is this so Tommy ?) Could some other XDR users test out if they get the same malfunction as I do @ Canon 24 F (This means you must engage 3:2 pull down removal on your XDR to record clips @ 24p from the Canon HDV camcorders).

2. Also, I am still getting intermittent playback audio corruption when recorded clips in Long GOP 50 Mbps are played. What happens is you press once and get pops and screeches, then no sound at all, but perfect picture. If you press Stop and then Play again, then you get perfect audio and perfect picture. Hit Stop again and press Play, then it's pop and screech city ! Does anyone else who records clips and plays back out of the XDR also get this problem, or am I the only one ?

3. Thank you Tommy & CD technicians for fixing the flashing Time Code numbers upon play back :-) Man, did that ever bug me !

4. I didn't know there was a 2 frame delay in sync-between picture & sound which has been fixed in this release. I think I noticed a slight offset, a few times but I had dismissed this thinking I was imagining things.

Dear Friends,

For the Flash XDR Public Beta release, we have confirmed that turning on E to E mode:

1. Prevents External Timecode Input (LTC) from being used.

2. Turns on the Record Tally Bar function.

We are working on these issues.

We have not been able to duplicate the audio playback issues Mark reported.

Dear Mark,

No, not yet.

I know we are working on the items you reported.

But, I do not personally know of who else has tested the Flash XDR Public Beta.

We would want some more testing.

Always Willing to Test Betas :-)

Hi Dan:
Come on fellow XDR users. Please hop on the latest Firmware and give it a go :-) Dan, I am willing to test whatever. I feel like I'm the only guy out there with an XDR, but I always watch the numbers on the side go way up, so come on XDR users. I know you're out there paying attention. The side numbers are going up, and it's not all me. Please give Beta 1.5.91 a test.

Dear Mark,

I believe the problem, the loss of LTC (external Linear Timecode) has been fixed.

I will check with our engineers when they arrive.

We generally attempt to fix problems reported in the Public Betas as soon as they are reported.

Dear Mark,

Yes, this has been fixed in the code, but we have not built a release or tested it yet.

Dear Mark,

Yesterday, we created a new build of our nano3D, Flash XDR and nanoFlash firmware.

So we are in the early stages of testing these new releases.

It is too early to tell when we can provide you with an updated release.

Dear Mark,

Our testing found a problem with the Flash XDR version of the new firmware.

The "Screen Tally" function is not currently working in our release candidate, so we will be working to fix it as soon as possible.
