Shorter XH-A1 aftermarket component cables for field monitor

I have recently received an 8" field monitor that utilizes BNC component inputs. I am very excited to begin shooting with the monitor; however, the factory component cables that come with the XH-A1 are simply too long to use in the field (Canon DTC-1000, http://www.calumetphoto.com/item/EC7670).

Does anyone know of a shorter aftermarket cable that can be used while still maximizing the video output to the monitor?

I'm assuming I would still use the same output port from the camcorder. (BTW, I am not certain what the that output port is called).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

If you're pretty handy, you can buy that cable and cut them down to size. If you don't know how find someone who is handy with cables and let them do it. ITs not hard really, but you just have to be careful.

BTW, what monitor did you get?

The ikan ...

Jerome,

I appreciate the response. I just didn't know if there was an actual cable out there to support the cause. I can't say I'm handy enough to go about it on my own, but perhaps I can find someone. Still thought I'd try to find a quick hardware solution.

As far as the monitor - I risked it and purchased the ikan 8000hd. I read all types of posts re: the ability to focus w/ an on-camera monitor. I was skeptical at first, but I believe the ikan can get me close enough. Combined with the LCD resolution, I think I'll be ok with the ikan. It was tough for me to justify the 2x cost to get something better. I will however say that the color leaves a lot to be desired, but again, for framing and 90% focus, I'm good. I'm just looking for a flip mount and I'll be good to go.

BTW, I'm a fan of your trailers!

I could possibly do this for you if you want. Email me and we'll talk about it. I doubt there is a ready made cable that is short with that Canon connector. Who knows though.

Glad you like the trailers! I'm in the process of making a 720p embedded flash trailer for the HD Demo page on my site... almost there!

There was just a post on another site about this.

There is a very short cable option...

You are looking for a "D4 to Component Female pigtail cable" or AVPD4CF

then you will need to 'reverse genders' on that with an RCA coupler.
