Sony VEGAS to support AVC-HD

They say they'll have AVC-HD support available in the spring as a free update to Vegas 7.

Ah, Vegas 7.0c WILL have AVCHD support finally! Nice find.

I'm guessing that this means that you will be able to import AVCHD clips and edit them, which will be fine, but I suspect torturously slow.

Does this also mean that once you have finished your editing, you will be able to export in the AVCHD format too?
