Based on seeing HiMD in the name of the above URL, I'll venture to say "yes." However, I won't click on any CNet anything, as they're pretty famous for introducing spyware/adware to your system.
HiMD is a great means of capturing PCM audio with any microphone.

Sorry about that-- the model is Sony MZ-RH910 Hi-MD Walkman

and the connectors it has are : Audio line-in, Microphone, SPDIF input

Yep, that'll record with the VideoMic just fine. I've got a similar model, and have had the Rode in it several times.

Hey guys, I might as well butt in to see if I can get my own question asked. I see this will work well with the Videomic, but is this unit also a good choice for recording live sound off a mixing board during a music concert.
If so what adapters/cables will I need? Also to connect and import that audio into my computer or NLE?
The only recording I've done off a board was with a female XLR cable - into a Beachtek - into a GL2. I'd like to get one of these units because whenever I ask about the best ways to record these live shows, I get reccomended to setting up two mics (x-y) in the room and using a minidisc recorder to get sound of the board and then mix the two in post. I just don't know anything about minidisc recorders at all ( or really recording sound for that matter). Thanks a lot for any input you might have.
